Ygne Summer House by Sandell Sandberg

Sandell Sandberg projected the Ygne summer house situated on the island of Gotland, one of Sweden most popular summer holiday spots.

The house was build to recess into the natural environment. Floor to ceiling windows wrap the house from the entry facade into the inner courtyard, allowing the wooded exterior to become part of the interior landscape.

The exterior uses a reich material palette of chinese tung oiled pine siding and decking, green painted siding and steel detailing. The interior uses a pale palette of white painted walls, white washed pine floor, concrete fireplace, and limestone. The sleeping area counter balances this with oiled masonite wall panels. All material are produced locally on the island.

Fennell Floating House

With the icebergs melting and the oceans water levels increasing I’d sure be interested in living in a floating house. Architect Robert Harvey Oshatz has done his best to design this modern Fennell House.

Completed in 2004 the spectacular wooden house features a facade that resembles with the shapes and curves of a river and even though it looks perfect to spend a sunset with your loved-one, you’ll have to agree it has a big party potential. How about some margaritas and some good music with a bunch of friends?

Inside there’s a big living room with a bar while in the back, there’s the oft-level master bedroom. Simple and beautiful at the same time, don’t you think?
